If your child is absent for any reason, the school office must be notified via gateway before 9:15am on the first day of absence. The gateway message must include a reason for your child's absence.
As Parent/Guardian it is your legal responsibility to ensure that your child attends school regularly or provide proper reason for their absence. It is our responsibility to record such reasons. Children who have regular poor attendance will be referred to the Local Authority Attendance Team.
Before a request for leave of absence is made to school, you should consider carefully the possible effect on your child’s education.
Children make best progress at school through regular and punctual attendance.
If your child needs to be absent from school during term time an application form must be completed which should be returned to school at least two weeks before the intended departure date. School will consider a number of factors before granting permission, including your child’s attendance record.
