Support Staff

School Librarian – Mrs W Rigby
I have been at our wonderful school since 2014 as a TA and Librarian. I studied Environmental Science and Education at University and my first teaching roles were in environmental education; working at Martin Mere was my favourite role. At school you will find me in our amazing library encouraging children's reading for pleasure and running lunchtime library club. Out of school I enjoy wildlife, reading, Lego and looking after my dog, chickens and rabbits.
Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Mrs J Whitehead
I have worked at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School since 2008 (mainly in Year 6). I enjoy supporting children in Mathematics lessons. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Miss C Holder
I have been working at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School since 2015 and I have a background in I.T. Currently, I support in Year 2 and Year 6. Outside of school, I love outdoors and enjoy geocaching. I am also a Brownie Leader in the local community.
Year 5 Teaching Assistant – Mrs E Robinson
I have worked as a Teaching Assistant at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School for 23 years (mainly in Year 5 and Year 6). I enjoy going on long walks with my dog, gardening and spending time with my family and friends.
Year 4 Teaching Assistant – Mrs S Tugwell
I have worked at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School as a teaching assistant. I am also a qualified primary school teacher. I enjoy cake decorating and spending time in Yorkshire with my family (and the dog).

Smart Shop Coordinator
I have been a teaching assistant at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School for ten years, and during that time I’ve worked across most year groups. My favourite part of the job is receiving a big smile from a child. I love languages – I’m a former French translator and I’m currently improving my Spanish – and I’m also learning dressmaking.
Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Mrs C Bentley
I have worked at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School for six years. In addition to my work in Year 3, I also support the running of our school library. I live in Burscough with my husband and two teenage sons who both attended this school. I enjoy cooking shows and spending time with family and friends.
Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Miss L Waterhouse

Swimming Teacher
I have worked at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School since June 2021. It is a delightful place to work! I am also a former pupil myself. I have worked with children for more than twenty years and love my job. I have one daughter who is a current pupil. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends to make memories.
Year 2 Teaching Assistant – Miss E Hilton
I have been working at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School since September 2020. I enjoy helping children to learn. I also help with swimming lessons, work in after school club and support on the playground at lunchtime. I love going on long walks, listening to music and making people laugh.
Year 2 Teaching Assistant – Miss C Holder
I have been working at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School since 2015, and I have a background in IT. Currently, I support in Year 2 and Year 6. Outside of school, I love being outdoors and I enjoy geocaching. I am also a Brownie Leader in the local community.
Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Mrs A Barklem
I have been working in education for 23 years. For the last 7 years, I have worked at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School. I am passionate about helping young children learn and find my job very rewarding. Outside of school, I enjoy exploring outdoors with my husband and 3 children. Our favourite place to visit is the Lake District.
Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Mrs J Lacey
I have been working in childcare and education for 19 years and truly love what I do. It is such a joy to watch children grow, learn and discover new things every day. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my own children and family. I like to keep active by going to the gym.
Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Mrs J Foster
I have worked at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School since 2007. I particularly enjoy supporting children during phonics lessons and enjoy running phonics groups. I have a passion for Speech and Language and love supporting children.
Reception Teaching Assistant – Mrs C Brady
I have worked at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School for 20 years, and I am passionate about nurturing and developing our little ones in the Early Years.
Reception Teaching Assistant – Miss R Bullock
I have worked at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School since 2020. I mainly work with Reception and Year 1 children. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
Reception Teaching Assistant – Mrs R Kenyon
I currently work in Reception, but have experience in Nursery and Key Stage One. I have a particular passion for supporting children with additional needs. I enjoy learning outside with the children; especially when using a mud kitchen or exploring the woods. Outside of school, I enjoy walking with my family.
Reception Teaching Assistant – Miss H Webster
I have been part of the Ormskirk CE family since 2019 and have spent most of my time working with Reception and Year 1 children. I love teaching phonics and enjoy using creativity to make learning fun and engaging. I find my job incredibly rewarding, especially watching children learn and grow. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family.
